For the sensorization of the extrusion production line we followed the guideline of picture below. Initially, the sensors that we needed were defined. Some of these were already existing in the production line and others have been defined/selected and ordered. In the following steps, these sensors (temperature, vibration, pressure, position…) were installed and calibrated (after defining the position of these sensors) and connected to the CPSs. All these action actions were documented in the migration path.

Some of the already installed sensors were worn-out, as well as those that were in pretty bad condition were successfully changed (extrusion die pressure sensor, vacuum pressure sensors, thermocouples, water flowmeter).
The newly installed sensors were vibration sensor, thermocouples on extrusion die and on extrusion cylinders along with new heaters, new vision system and extrusion die pressure sensor. These sensors are depicted in below pictures.
